Robert’s Update BMT + 29

Robert had a very good day today, and the doctors are now planning on sending him home Tuesday. (Keep your fingers crossed). Robert’s blood cultures have been negative and he is now off IV antibiotics. He did get red blood cells late yesterday, and he had fast breathing afterwards. He was otherwise fine and went to sleep, but the nurses did hourly checks on vital signs (blood pressure, temp., etc.) This had some affect on Robert and Dad’s sleep. Both took a nap today.

Robert was up for over an hour today, and spent several hours in his chair. He also ate very well (bacon, chicken, bagels, and yogurt), and drank Coke. He was very cheerful (and loud) until quite late this evening. The only health concern is that he still has high blood pressure, which required Nefedipine again today. However, it is under control with the medication, and does not seem to cause him other problems.

We’re looking forward to having him home.

Best regards, Mark
