Robert’s Update BMT + 35

It would be a good time to increase your prayers for Robert. He is having a bone marrow biopsy tomorrow. Robert’s counts are way down even though he is receiving GMCSF, a stimulant. His white blood count is down to 500. He was up at 1600 on Monday. The concern is something is not going well with the engraftment and this is one way to check. Dr. Cowan will be out of the country next week and I think he would like us to have a clear plan before he leaves. Fred, my father-in-law will be flying in tomorrow at noon so that he can take a look at Robert himself. We are so lucky to have a doctor in our family.

I went to talk to Maureen, the resident on duty, about Robert’s platelet counts. They have dropped to 19k and he probably needs a transfusion before he goes into anesthesia tomorrow.
