Join ISMRD at our International Forum: Together We Are Strong in person Minneapolis, MN, USA or on a live webinar from August 8-9, 2025. During these two days, families, patients, doctors, researchers and pharmaceutical companies will work together to strengthen our community and our common goals. New partnerships will be forged, the seeds of new plans and strategies will be sown, new attachments formed. Coming together during this Forum will help us to become even stronger!

ISMRD is the leading world advocate for the nine Glycoproteinoses:
Alpha-Mannosidosis, Aspartylglucosaminuria (AGU), Beta-Mannosidosis, Fucosidosis, Galactosialidosis, Mucolipidosis ll Alpha/Beta, Mucolipidosis lll Gamma, Schindler Disease and Sialidosis.

The theme of our Forum is “Together We Are Strong”. This is in keeping with ISMRD’s Mission of seeking to detect and cure the Glycoprotein Storage Diseases, and to provide a global network of support and information, through partnerships built with medicine, science and industry. We have always known that working together is our greatest strength.

US Family Assistance - NORD

The National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD) is offering financial assistance to US families traveling to the ISMRD International Forum to support a loved one with a rare disease. This assistance aims to alleviate the financial burden of attending this important event.

What NORD Covers:

  • Conference registration fees.
  • Partial travel expenses (airfare or mileage reimbursement).
  • Partial accommodation costs.
  • Travel assistance, including booking support for flights.
  • Assistance is available for the entire family attending, not just the individual with the rare disease.

Application Process:

  1. Initial Application: Begin by completing the online application through the NORD website: https://applications.rarediseases.org/Home/WebEnroll?pId=177
  2. Phone Support: If you require assistance with the online application, please contact NORD at 860-556-2208.
  3. Physician Verification: Following your initial application, NORD will send you paperwork for your physician to complete, confirming the diagnosis of the rare disease.
  4. Approval and Assistance: Upon receipt and approval of the physician’s verification, NORD will begin coordinating and providing financial assistance for your travel and other covered expenses.

Showcase your latest research! The poster submission window is now CLOSED for ISMRD’s International Forum.

Thank you to all who submitted poster abstracts focused on Glycoproteinoses rare disease research. Academics, researchers, industry, government agencies, healthcare professionals, patient organizations, and other interested parties, such as students who have conducted rare disease or orphan product research studies or public health projects relevant in these rare diseases are invited to submit an abstract for inclusion in the poster hall.
